Caretaker Program
Overview
The Caretaker Program offers individuals a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operation of the C.A.R.E. Complex while gaining valuable experience and support.
Eligibility and Selection Process
- Application: Interested individuals must complete a caretaker application and participate in an interview with the Care Complex Director. Evaluation is based on the applicant's ability to contribute effectively to the facility's upkeep.
- Background Check: A mandatory background check is conducted to ensure the safety and security of all residents and guests.
Work Requirements
Weekly Hours
Caretakers are required to work 30 hours per week, performing tasks designated by the leadership team, which may include:
- General Maintenance: Basic handyman duties such as minor repairs, painting, and addressing facility needs.
- Cleaning and Organizing: Keeping common areas, restrooms, and sleeping quarters clean and organized.
- Event Facilitation: Assisting with community events, food distributions, workshops, and social activities.
- Assisting Community Partners: Supporting partner organizations with logistics during events.
- Administrative Duties: Helping with weekly reports, documenting services provided, and other technical tasks.
Compensation
- Living Quarters: Caretakers receive free room and board in exchange for their work.
Transitioning to Employment
Once a caretaker secures outside employment of at least 25 hours per week, they may transition to a designated group home living area for a fee of $200 per month. Proof of employment is required.
